The Municipal Council of Al Dhahirah Holds Its Second Regular Session of the Year The Municipal Council of Al Dhahirah Governorate held its second regular session of the year, chaired by Hamdan bin Nasser bin Rashid Al Yahyaei, Deputy Chairman of the Council. During the meeting, the minutes of the previous session were approved, and responses and incoming recommendations were reviewed. Council members were also briefed on a presentation by the Directorate General of Agricultural Wealth and Water Resources in Al Dhahirah Governorate regarding proposed recharge and protection dams across the governorate. The presentation included the locations, technical specifications, and storage capacities of these dams, which aim to preserve groundwater reserves and ensure sustainable water resources in the region. In addition, the final designs of the protection dam in the village of Al-Dariz in the Wilayat of Ibri—expected to be implemented in the near future—were presented. The Directorate General of Housing and Urban Planning also delivered a visual presentation on designated parking areas for trucks and heavy machinery, aimed at addressing the issue of random parking across the governorate. Council members also discussed a proposal to pave paths in historical neighborhoods to promote domestic tourism and encourage investment in heritage sites. Other topics included requests to expand high-speed internet services in several villages, as well as a review of public service requests submitted to the council, and the recommendations outlined in the third meeting report of the Governorate Development Committee..
