In line with the increasing focus on environmental issues and the promotion of sustainability practices in the Sultanate of Oman, the Health and Environmental Affairs Committee of the Municipal Council in Dhahirah Governorate participated in a specialized workshop titled: "Environmental Sustainability in Construction and Demolition Waste Management and the Opportunities Available in the Sultanate of Oman."'.

Additionally, it emphasized the promising economic opportunities in the fields of recycling and investment within the environmental sector. The workshop discussed several key topics, including the current status of construction and demolition waste management in the Sultanate, the challenges faced by the relevant authorities in this field, and the best global practices that can be utilized to develop effective policies and regulations. The session also showcased several successful projects and initiatives focused on the reuse and recycling of construction materials, in addition to presenting opportunities for public-private partnerships to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. 

The Committee's participation in this workshop reflects its commitment to supporting national policies related to environmental protection, and enhancing cooperation with various stakeholders to adopt innovative and sustainable solutions in waste management. This aligns with Oman Vision 2040 and the Sustainable Development Goals.
